Looking for simple yet effective ways to help her community, Carnival Cruise Lines Business Development Director for British Columbia Traci Farden has been coordinating a wide range of charitable endeavors to benefit various agencies and organizations in her hometown of Vancouver.
Most recently, she organized a book drive which took place during a travel agent luncheon and tour aboard the Carnival Spirit at the Port of Vancouver. The “In the Spirit of Giving on the Spirit” event asked travel agents to donate used books which were provided to Reading Tree, which gives reading materials to the needy. As a result of Farden’s efforts, hundreds of books were collected. Farden (right) is pictured here at the Vancouver cruise terminal with Barb Addy, owner of Vancouver-based Expedia Cruiseshipcenters.
Farden’s other community service efforts have included cruise nights during which travel agents were asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Mustard Seed food bank, and a sales seminar that encouraged travel agents to donate toiletries and blankets which were provided to the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.
