Carnival Cruise Lines was once again well represented at the Bacardi Cruise Competition, with winning entries in both the cocktail and culinary categories.
Bartender Renata M. Chedid was a winner in the Signature Cocktail category for her custom-made concoction called the “Berrini,” made of Grey Goose vodka and Bacardi Razz raspberry-flavored rum. Chef Kuppakkattu Balakris Nair Ajayakumar was a winner in the Italian category for his Martini and Rossi-Braised Basa Fillet with Tomato, Chili and Fennel.
Chedid and Ajayakumar, who spent many hours developing and testing their culinary creations, were also finalists in the Bartender of the Year and Chef of the Year competitions, respectively.
Now in its fifth year, the Bacardi Cruise Competition attracts hundreds of cruise line chefs and bartenders who are tasked with creating one-of-a-kind entrees, appetizers, and drinks using Bacardi products.
