Carnival brought the “fun” to the New York City Wine and Food Festival’s Fun and Fit in the City event, Oct. 11-14, in the form of free frozen yogurt and a two-level obstacle course.

Hundreds of families stood in line for a chance to  run the course and afterwards enjoyed a little free frozen yogurt, but neither of those was the biggest highlight at the Carnival booth. Guy Fieri, who hosted the Fun and Fit in the City event, dropped by to help Carnival Ambassadors serve yogurt and took some time to take pictures and sign autographs for participants.

The Food Network personality and chef recently partnered with Carnival to develop Guy’s Burger Joint, a complimentary poolside “surf shack” serving the best burgers at sea and hand-cut fries. Guy’s Burger Joint is just one of several new features that make up the line’s $500 million “Fun Ship 2.0” fleetwide enhancement program.

Carnival was one of several sponsors of the family-friendly event that promotes a healthy lifestyle. The line, which is no stranger to the Big Apple, recently kicked off Carnival Miracle’s year-round Caribbean cruise program from New York.
