Continuing Carnival Cruise Line’s support of its homeport communities, Carnival Elation hosted nearly two dozen mentors and mentees from the Jacksonville chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network whose mission is to make meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) and develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
During their time on board, the “Bigs” and their “Littles” enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Carnival Elation’s main dining room followed by a tour of the recently renovated 70,000-ton ship.
The group also had a chance to meet members of the ship’s management team and learn more about the day-to-day operations of the 3,104-passenger vessel which operates year-round four- and five-day cruises from Jaxport carrying 170,000 passengers a year.
