In anticipation of Mardi Gras’ November arrival, Carnival Cruise Line hosted a sneak preview of Family Feud Live, one of many new entertainment features that will debut on the most talked about new ship coming to North America. A team of travel advisors squared off against members of the press in a friendly game at Carnival Studios in Davie, Fla.

In an exclusive partnership with Fremantle, the onboard Family Feud Live programming will feature the same format and signature set as the popular TV show Family Feud™. From the show’s familiar sound and lighting effects to the playful banter between questions, attendees got a first-hand look at the onboard version of the game hosted by Mardi Gras’ Cruise Director Matt Mitcham. The studio audience also played along and enjoyed brief videos highlighting the funniest answers over the course of Family Feud’s™ 40-year history.

The shipboard version of Family Feud Live will include several variations of the show including traditional, instant family, kids and even late night adults-only versions.

The group also enjoyed a tour of the 44,500 square-foot Carnival Studios, which opened in 2017 and is home to nearly two dozen vocal, dance, music/band and development studios, as well as rehearsal facilities equipped with a wardrobe room and a scenic storage space that houses all of the ships’ set pieces and props.

Mardi Gras will homeport out of Port Canaveral, Fla. and introduce such groundbreaking experiences such as BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, as well as Emeril’s Bistro 1396, the first seagoing restaurant by famed New Orleans chef Emeril Lagasse, along with a new class of Excel suites. It will also be the first cruise ship in North America to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), part of Carnival Corporation’s “green cruising” platform.
