August 26 was National Cherry Popsicle Day and, in recognition of this annual event, Carnival Cruise Lines provided a delicious treat of 500 cherry popsicles, along with fun popsicle-shaped balloons, to the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the cruise line’s top charitable partners.

From the looks of the photos, the kids truly enjoyed the tasty frozen confections. As an added treat, all of the names of Carnival’s Facebook fans who “liked” the company’s post about the National Cherry Popsicle/St. Jude project were added to a card that will be given to the hospital.

The National Cherry Popsicle Day celebration at St. Jude was part of Carnival’s ongoing support of the organization, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases.  Carnival’s support of St. Jude includes a series of fun, interactive shipboard fundraisers and the company’s goal is to raise $3 million over a three-year period.
