Carnival Cruise Lines – Texas’ largest cruise operator – yesterday presented the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, with a $10,000 check representing the proceeds from the “Pass the Boot” promotion during this season’s home games.

As the Official Cruise Line of the Frisco RoughRiders, Carnival matched monetary donations made by fans during the Texas League tradition of “Passing the Boot” for the RoughRiders Foundation, team and individual players after each RoughRiders’ home run.

In addition to sponsoring “The Pass the Boot” promotion, Carnival brought its signature brand of fun to fans attending games at Dr Pepper Ballpark during the 2014 season.

Whenever a RoughRider hit a home run, fans heard the iconic sound of the Carnival ship horn, with fireworks launching from the outfield and celebratory graphics illuminating the LED signs around the stadium.  New for this season was the “Carnival Crush Inning” during which fans were randomly selected to win a free Carnival cruise for two if a RoughRiders player hit a home run during that inning. Carnival also hosted “Kids’ Day,” during which children from underprivileged families within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex enjoyed a RoughRiders’ game along with fun activities and interaction with players, photo opportunities, autographs and more.

This season’s promotions are part of a multi-year partnership with the RoughRiders which represents the first time that Carnival has teamed up with a professional baseball franchise.
