Leave it to the Carnival Australia team to come up with a fun and inventive way to mark the country’s ever-popular Christmas in July celebration -- Grinchmas Eve, with the crusty curmudgeon rappelling down a rope via helicopter to steal the Christmas fun from Carnival Spirit in Sydney Harbor.
After his fearless drop, Carnival Spirit guests watched as The Grinch caused chaos on board swiping the captain’s hat, hiding the turkey and even stealing lollipops from the Cherry on Top sweets shop.
With so many activities for guests of all ages, delicious food and live entertainment options, in the end even The Grinch couldn’t resist turning his frown upside down, dancing along to all of the fun he witnessed onboard.
The appearance by The Grinch is a fun prelude for Carnival’s unforgettable Christmas cruises which include memorable touches like ornate decorations, “snowfalls” in the atrium, a grand Christmas tree, traditional food and caroling and a visit from Santa himself. The Grinch also plays a starring role in the Holiday Show and also visits the kids clubs and of course, makes an appearance at the much-loved Dr. Seuss-themed Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in the Hat and Friends.
