Carnival Cruise Line, together with Carnival Corporation, today pledged its support to the government and people of The Bahamas as they assess the damage from Hurricane Dorian and begin recovery efforts.
"Our hearts go out to our Bahamian family at this difficult time. We have been in close communication with government officials throughout the weekend and stand ready to provide humanitarian and economic assistance," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "Our focus will be on the priorities as established by government and emergency relief officials."
Duffy said Carnival remains fully committed to its announced Grand Bahama port development project, which will be an important part of rebuilding the island of Grand Bahama. She also said that Carnival ships will be calling on all of its Bahamian ports, including both Nassau and Freeport, just as soon as they are ready to receive guests. Carnival is also assessing how to help the Grand Bahama shipyard and its employees, as well as our tour operators who support travel and tourism.
