Carnival Panorama made Carnival Cruise Line history today as the first ship in the fleet to visit Manila, Philippines. A large, pier-side celebration welcomed the ship into port, with the sounds of the famous local Zamora marching band’s brass instruments making for a lively and memorable entrance. The unique visit is a highlight of the ship’s 25-day transpacific Carnival Journeys voyage that departed Singapore on Oct. 12.
As Carnival Panorama’s guests spent the day ashore in Manila, the ship’s team welcomed many special guests, including local dignitaries and media, on board. As Manila is home to a significant population of Carnival team members, their families were among the welcomed guests. A ceremonial plaque exchange, a maritime tradition marking the ship’s first visit to the port, preceded a special lunch.
Carnival Panorama recently completed a 24-day dry dock in Singapore and now sports a variety of enhancements. The ship is the final Carnival Cruise Line vessel in its 27-ship fleet to receive the line’s signature red, white and blue hull livery. She will arrive to Long Beach on Nov. 5 and resume a year-round schedule of Mexican Riviera cruises. For a look at all available sailings on Carnival Panorama, click here.
